1. When you first try on your wedding shoe candidate, you gotta say, “Ahhhhhh.” If you don’t, keep looking 2. Pick a shoe that has some padding between you and the floor. You will be in these shoes for 10 or more hours. 3. No, you don’t need to buy dance shoes to have the right shoes for your wedding dance. 4. You must have a leather-soled shoe or you may not be able to move on the dance floor with comfort and style. Please see the warning note below. 5. If you are buying very soft leather dance shoes, it is sometimes suggested to buy one size smaller than your street-shoe size. Decide to wear your shoes at your dance lessons. If you wear a thin cotton sock, this will break the shoes in without breaking out with blisters. 6. Since you can see hundreds of shoes in a single on-line session, shopping on line seems to work best. 7. Lastly, and maybe most importantly - stay within your budget without sacrificing the fit to be exactly the “ahhhh” factor in suggestion number one. Warning: Make sure you take a test run in your shoes before your big wedding day debut. If your shoes have a black-soled rubber bottom, they may cause your feet to “grab” the floor for increased traction. For general walking purposes this is good, but when dancing this extra traction may cause you to trip. The opposite can happen with new leather-soled pair of shoes, they can be really slick. One of my Brides recently came for her last dance lesson with her new shoes and could not walk on my dance studio floor.
