Dancing & Happiness
By the Dancing Doctor, Diana Jo Rossano
Some years ago, there was a song asking about life and what is it all about. If you are 22 or 102, searching for happiness is a never-ending journey. Here are a few things I have learned along the way for creating a Happiness Portfolio!!
1) Savor the moments. Ask the question: What would make me happy right now?
Develop simple pleasures.
Diversify what you like to do.
2) Focus on being God’s child and what He has given you for life’s meaning. Be thankful for what you have, Make a “Happiness List” and add to this list each time you find something that makes you happy.
Practice the power of appreciation for things as they are right now.
3) Negative self talk is a bad habit. Tell yourself, “Stop it. God doesn’t make junk.” If you find yourself making a comment, “I never do anything right.” Immediately correct yourself, “Opps, I will do better next time.
Every day ask yourself, “What’s the good news in my life right now?”
4) Plan for the worst and do your best. Trust God’s sovereignty. Even a tragedy can be turned around when God’s hand is upon it.
5) All endings are also beginnings that have been planned by God for your future. He isn’t trying to hurt you. He wants the best for you. You are His kid. Stop forgetting that.
6) All beings want to be happy and all actions are attempts to be happy. Forgive everyone. Look for things to give others that are gifts of happiness.
7) Am I doing the thing that I am best qualified to do? Find the talent that you have and then work to improve that talent.
Allow God to develop your talents.
8) Wait for the end of the story – God isn’t finished working yet. God has never failed you before.
Why would He start now?
Live today as IF God is in control. Ha! One bad life experience is NOT a life sentence.
9) Change what you can. Accept what you cannot because it’s all God’s will for your life.
“This too shall pass.” King Solomon.
10) Live your values on a daily basis. Does someone need your smile or encouragement?
Be truthful to yourself.
Remember and do not forget: Today’s path creates tomorrow’s destiny.
Don’t try and do the things on this list in a week end. That won’t work. This is a plan that grows. Each day becomes a new adventure to find a new way to become happy. To expand who you are and whose life your life touches. The people you touch will reap the benefits from this list, too. Why? Because you will inspire them to try new things and expand each other. After all, isn’t that what friendships are for?
May God bless you on your journey to become a better and happier you.
